Photo 52. Paint the lamps 110 black and white. Once they are dry glue them along the interior of the
clerestory. They must be centred in the white spaces of the interior. Cut to length the strip 111 and glue
the pieces over the slots in the side reinforcements, covering them up. Use fast-acting glue.
Photo 53. Turn the carriage over and glue the beams 112 into the slots in the base. To reinforce this assembly
also glue the brackets 113 along the full length of the beam. Use fast-acting glue.
Photo 54. Glue the reinforcements 114 and 115 onto the beams. The inclination at the end of
reinforcements 115 must be directed towards the interior of the carriage. Use fast-acting glue.
Photo 55. Nail some pins 117 into the parts 116, imitating rivets. Apply fast-acting glue to the backs of these
parts and cut off any excess of the pins pushing through. Glue the parts 116 into the slots left in the
reinforcements 115. Glue the separator 118 between the two beams, flush with the front and back ends of
the carriage. Glue the reinforcement 119 to the front part. Use fast-acting glue.
Photo 56. Line one side of the platforms 120 using the strips 121, previously stained Sapelli colour. The
strips must completely cover the platforms, hiding the slots. Accentuate the joints between the strips so
that they are more marked. Glue the platforms to each end of the carriage. Varnish these assemblies.
Use fast-acting glue.
Photo 57. Glue the strips 122 centred and aligned with the slots in the base. Using lengths of brass wire make
up the pipes 123. Use the printed template that accompanies these instructions, on the last pages, to make up the
correct form. Glue these lengths of pipe to the sides of the strips and to the base of the carriage using fast-acting
glue. Paint the whole of the exterior matt black, as shown.
Photo 58. Glue the bottom reinforcements, 124, 125 and 126, using the slots in the beams as a guide. The
reinforcements, 124 and 125, are fitted into place by introducing them sideways between the beams. Use fast-acting
glue.
Photo 59. Using these parts make up the bottom tanks. Make the holes indicated, centred in the deposits. Glue the
parts 131 in the centre of the tanks 129.
Photo 60. Use the brass strap to make up the hoops 130 on the tanks 128. Paint the parts completely black and
finally glue them onto the bottom of the carriage as shown in the photo. Use fast-acting glue.
Photo 61. Cut eight lengths of the brass strap 133 and glue them to the box 132. Glue four units on each side. Give
shape to and glue in place the straps 134, on the bottom of the box. Also fit the handles 135 in place, previously
having made the holes in which to insert them. Paint the whole of the box steel colour and the handles golden.
Photo 62. Fit and glue the supports 136 for the bars 137 and 138. Use a pin 117 to fix the end of the bars in place.
Using brass wire make up the bars 138. Paint black and steel coloured. Finally glue the tank 127 in place
and the box 132.
Photo 63. Using brass wire make up the different pipes on the bottom of the base. Measurements here are
approximate, make them up according to the dimensions of your model.
Photo 64. Glue all of the pipes into place, based on the configuration shown. Use fast-acting glue.
Photo 65. Centre and glue the supports for the bogies 143 on parts 142. The parts 144 serve to centre
the assembly on the base of the carriage. Use fast-acting glue. Fit one of these assemblies at each end
of the base and paint them black. The two rings (149) are only glued onto the supports to lift the car so
that it can circulate on the tracks. If it is for a static model they do not need to be fitted.
Photo 66. Put together two of the assemblies using the parts 145 and 146. Reinforce the strips 147. Glue the
ring 148 into place. Use fast-acting glue.
