Keeping the water warm
• Select the desired temperature. If the temperature has not been set previously, the apparatus
will be at the default setting of 100°C.
• Press the 'Keep Warm' button
• As soon as the selected temperature has been reached, the kettle emits 3 sound signals and
stays lit. The light illuminating the water level indicator stays on.
• The temperature now stays at that constant temperature for 30 minutes.
C. Hints and tips
• Always use fresh, cold water each time you boil. Never use the kettle to heat another liquid
(milk, soup, broth...).
• As soon as the kettle boils, pour the water into your ceramic pot or cup directly onto the tea.
The tea should be allowed to steep for 3 to 5 minutes. The longer it steeps the stronger it is.
For iced tea, brew tea double- strength (steep twice as long) and pour over ice. Stir and serve
as desired.
• Do not open the lid of the kettle when pouring or during the heating process as escaping
steam may scald.
• If the kettle is on without any water inside, it will shut off automatically, thanks to the
integrated safety mechanism. The lights illuminating the water level indicator and the control
panel flash on and off and the kettle emits 20 sound signals. The lights illuminating the water
level indicator and the control panel stop flashing on and off once the kettle has cooled down.
After cooling down, switch off the kettle by unplugging and then plugging in or remove the
kettle from the base then place it back.
• Empty the kettle after each use. Do not leave water standing in the kettle.
D. Recommended temperature settings
Achieving the correct water brewing temperature is essential for optimum flavour extraction
of tea and coffee. The quick reference guide below shows the ideal brewing temperatures for
different types of teas and coffees.
Brewing temperature for green tea and black tea vary considerably; as green tea won't maintain
its flavour or therapeutic properties if the water is too hot and black tea will never reach release
its flavours if the water is not hot enough.
If the recommended temperatures don't appear in your tea/coffee packaging, please refer to
the table:
