1 Introduction
This quick guide will assist you in starting up the unit.
Follow the safety notices or injury to health or property
damage may occur. Carefully read the original operat-
ing instructions including information on maintenance
and troubleshooting prior to startup. These are located
on the included CD and online at

These operating instructions are a part of the equip-
ment. The manufacturer reserves the right to change
performance-, specification- or technical data without
prior notice. Please keep these instructions for future
reference.
1.1 Scope of delivery
• 1 x sample gas pump with motor
• 1 x product documentation
1.2 Intended Use
Sample gas pumps are intended
• for installation into sample gas conditioning systems
in industrial applications and
• to transport only gaseous media
This unit may only be used if:
• the product is being used under the conditions de-
scribed in the instructions, used according to the
nameplate and for applications for which it is inten-
ded. Any unauthorized modifications of the device
will void the warranty provided by Bühler Technolo-
gies GmbH,
• complying with the threshold values specified in the
data sheet and the instructions,
• Monitoring equipment / protection devices are con-
nected correctly.
The data sheet can be found on the CD in addition to
the full original operating instructions.
Improper use

• For Conveying flammable or explosive gas mixtures
• For conveying liquids
• Outdoors

2 Safety instructions

2.1 Safety instructions
Installation of the device shall be performed by trained
staff only, familiar with the safety requirements and
risks.
Check all relevant safety regulations and technical in-
dications for the specific installation place. Prevent fail-
ures and protect persons against injuries and the device
against damage.
The operator of the system must secure that:
• safety and operation instructions are accessible and
followed,
• local safety regulations and standards are obeyed,
• performance data and installation specifications are
regarded,
• safety devices are installed and recommended
maintenance is performed,
• national regulations for disposal of electrical equip-
ment are obeyed.
DANGER
Electrical voltage
Electrocution hazard.
a) Disconnect the device from power supply.
b) Make sure that the equipment cannot be reconnec-
ted to mains unintentionally.
c) The device must be opened by trained staff only.
d) Regard correct mains voltage.
DANGER
Toxic, corrosive gases
The measuring gas led through the equipment can be
hazardous when breathing or touching it.
a) The measuring gas led through the equipment can
be hazardous when breathing or touching it.
b) Take care that harmful gases are exhausted to a
save place.
c) Before maintenance turn off the gas supply and
make sure that it cannot be turned on unintention-
ally.
d) Protect yourself during maintenance against toxic /
corrosive gases. Use suitable protective equip-
ment.
DANGER
Potentially explosive atmosphere
Explosion hazard if used in hazardous areas.
The device is not suitable for operation in hazardous
areas with potentially explosive atmospheres.
Do not expose the device to combustible or explosive
gas mixtures.
