Brief Instructions
P2.6-US
CAUTION
Tilting risk
Damage of the device
Secure the device against any sudden translocation
during maintenance.
CAUTION
Hot surface
Burning hazard
According to the product type and operation conditions,
the temperature of the housing may exceed 50 °C dur-
ing operation.
Depending on the conditions at the installation site it
may be necessary to provide these areas with appro-
priate warning signs.

3 Transport and Storage

Please note:
• Only transport in the original packaging or a suitable
alternative
• Only store in covered, dry, dust-free spaces, NOT
outdoors (lightning strike!)
• Storage temperature -20 °C to +40 °C
• Storage spaces mustn't have ozoniferous installa-
tions (e.g. fluorescent illuminants, mercury vapor
lamps, high voltage apparatuses)

4 Installation and connection

Check the equipment for damage before installation.
Among other things, this could be a damaged housing,
supply cables, etc.. Never use equipment with obvious
damage.
CAUTION
Use appropriate tools
According to DIN EN 1127-1, the operator is respons-
ible to select and use appropriate tools.

4.1 Installation site requirements

Never block the vent, and the exhaust air – including
from adjacent units – must not be immediately suc-
tioned in.
The motor is rated for ambient temperatures from -20°C
to +60°C as well as for installation altitudes ≤ 1000 m
above sea level.
When installing without mounting bracket, be sure the
distance between the motor and the back wall is ad-
equate. Please refer to the data sheet at the end of the
operating and installation instructions for additional in-
stallation site ambient parameters.
4.2 Mounting
This pump mounts above the motor base. Ensure se-
cure, horizontal installation.
Please note: Motors used in EX areas require a pro-
tection device!

4.3 Moist sample gas
If condensate forms inside the pump head or the lines,
the pump head must be suspended. How to convert the
pump head is described in the original operator's
manual.
Install the line between the gas output and condensate
drain with a grade so the condensate can drain and
does not collect inside the pump or the lines.

4.4 Connecting the sample gas line

The pumps feature the connections you selected.
Please compare the item number on the nameplate with
the item number structure. These can be found in the
original operator's manual on the included CD.
Avoid mixed installations, i.e. piping to plastic bodies. In
the event this is necessary for isolated applications,
carefully screw the metal screws into the pump body,
never use force.
Route pipes so the line at the inlet and outlet remains
elastic over a sufficient distance.
Pumps are marked with „In" for inlet and „Out" for out-
let. Check whether the fittings of the tubes are tightly
closed.

4.5 Electrical connections

A switch or circuit breaker (according to IEC 60947-1
and IEC 60947-3) must be installed for the sample gas
pump. It must be easy for the operator to reach. The
switch must be marked as a cut-off for the device. It
mustn't be integrated into a supply cable or interrupt the
earth conductor. It must further separate all poles of the
sample gas pump from live parts.
The sample gas pump must be protected against pro-
hibited heating with suitable overload protection (pro-
tective motor switch).
Please note the rated current for the protective switch
settings (see motor type plate).
Connect the pump according to the wiring diagram in-
side the housing cover of the junction box and ensure
the connection line has sufficient strain relief. Verify the
pump motor has the correct voltage and frequency
(voltage tolerance ± 5 % and frequency tolerance
± 2%).
The supply line and earthing cross-sections must be
aligned with the rated current.
Use a minimum line cross-section of 1.5 mm
Connect the protective earth of the motor to the protect-
ive earth on site.
Protective earth per DIN VDE 0100 must be connected
to the marked earth lead terminal.
No foreign objects, contaminants or moisture may be
inside the junction box. Seal any cable entry openings
not being used and the box itself dust- and waterproof.
Use the original seal when closing the junction box.
Openings not being used must be covered with ap-
proved plugs.
