Making the first recordings

Setting the Recording mode

The Recording mode is automatically active if the camera is
switched on. Auto, for the Automatic Recording mode, will appear
at upper left in the display in the basic status. You will find more
about the Recording modes and the symbols on Page 63.
Push the Mode Selection button to the desired recording mode if
the Replay mode is active, not the Recording mode.

Tips for good image recordings

Move the camera slowly, so that the photos do not become
blurred. The camera must not move when the release button is
pressed. Do not move the camera immediately after pressing
the release button. Wait for the release signal.
Look at the subject on the display before pressing the release
button.
Check the angle, if the subject is lit from behind. Change your
position, to reduce the background lighting.
Swing the camera slowly, to make good video clips. Video
recordings will become blurred and indistinct if you swing it
too fast.
