Operating Instructions
DANGER
– To reduce the risk of serious injury or death:
• Liquids exposed to electricity pose an immediate risk of electric shock. Do not use this unit
if the power control is damaged, wet, in contact with or near spilled water or any liquid.
Do not use the unit if the button activation switch has been exposed to water or any liquid.
Do not handle the plug or remote control with wet hands.
• Do not attempt to disassemble or service the product, pump or motor; no serviceable parts
are inside. Contact your La-Z-Boy ® dealer for service.
WARNING
– To reduce the risk of serious injury:
• Plug directly into a wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord, adapter or surge protector.
• This product has many moving parts, serious injury can occur if not used properly. Keep
hands, fingers and body parts away from the mechanism. To reduce the risk of head
entrapment and other injuries, keep children and pets away from openings and moving
parts in and around furniture.
• To safely exit the unit and prevent a tripping hazard, retract the legrest and return the unit to the
fully closed position.
• Your duo ® product may be a chair (one seat), or a loveseat or sofa (two or three seats).
The product is designed for use by only one person, weighing not more than 300 pounds,
in each seat. Do not operate the product with more than one person in any individual seat.
NOTICE: fter 1 minute of continuous operation, allow the system
to rest for 9 minutes.
To avoid product damage, the power recline feature should not be operated continuously for
extended periods of time. After 1 minute of continuous operation, allow the feature to rest
for 9 minutes.
Only proceed after having followed the Assembly Instructions completely.
Plug directly into a wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord, adapter or surge protector. Never stretch
or strain a cord.
Operating the Unit:
The power feature is operated by the buttons located on the outside arm. Legrest extension and
back recline operate by pressing only one button at a time. The legrest partially extends before
the back recline begins to move simultaneously with the legrest extension.
To initiate the recline cycle, press the front button and hold. Release the power button

when the legrest and back reach the desired position, or are fully reclined.
• To lower the legrest and return the back, press the back button and hold. Release the power button
when the legrest and back reach the desired position, or are completely closed.
Unplug the power supply if you are going to be away from your residence for an extended period of time.

Plug a small portable electronic device into the USB charging port. The USB port is for charging
only and does not save or transfer data.

Operating the Unit (continued):
The legrest assembly houses a spring system for safety which engages when the retraction
path of the legrest is obstructed.
