3.4.2 DISTRIBUTOR ADJUSTMENT AND TEST
DISTRIBUTOR ADJUSTMENT
The seeding table contains the instructions for suitably
distributing the seeds. The data that must be taken into
consideration for proceeding with the job are: size and type of
seed (small or normal size, e.g. wheat or colza), quantity in kg to
be distributed per hectare.
Size and type of seeds: adjust the distributor according to the
selected seed (see Table 4).
The distributed seed quantity per hectare is adjusted by the seed
distributor (Fig. 23) by moving the graduated slide valve accordingly
(F) with the screw staff (D). The positions of the distributor scale
(Fig. 28) correspond to the adjusting table values in the left column
(Table 5 page 44).
DISTRIBUTOR TEST
Before carrying out the dosing test, make sure there are no
foreign bodies inside the hopper and the doser. Once the
distributor has been adjusted, a test has to be carried out to
check the correct seed distribution, as the table values are purely
reference values, owing to the diversity often found in size and
specific weight of the seeds.
Shut the slide valve sompletely with the seedhopper empty.
Add a small seed quantity (approx. 40 kg) inside the hopper,
adjust the slide opening of the distributor to a slightly smaller
value than the one indicated in the table and corresponding to
the quantity to distribute per hectare.
ATTENTION
Do not rotate the screw staff to shut the distributor, with seeds
in the hopper: this would cause the break of the distributor
components.
Remove the bend under the injecting tube, and then attach the
collecting tube supplied with the machine (A Fig. 27/A) in the
same position and place a collecting container at the other end
of the tube (Fig. 27/B). Make 80 rotations with the handle
(equivalent to 1/10 ha) in the direction of travel and multiply what
is collected by 10. Of the value obtained is less or greater than
that required, open or close the gate by a few units and repeat the
test.
ATTENTION
Do not rotate the screw staff to shut the distributor, with seeds
in the hopper: this would cause the break of the distributor
components.
Once the test has been finished, fasten the curve again to the
injecting tube. By doing so, make sure that the curve flange is in
a balanced position with regard to the tube.
