The update from firmware version ≤ 2.99.99.R to ≥ 3.00.00.R is only
possible with the country standard "SMA Other standard"
An inverter update from firmware version ≤ 2.99.99.R to ≥ 3.00.00.R is possible if sufficient
DC voltage is applied to the inverter. The update can be carried out via the SD memory card
or a communication product. An update of the firmware version is available in the download
area on the inverter's product page at www.SMA-Solar.com. To carry out the update, the
country data set of the inverter must be set to Other standard.
• Set the country data set of the inverter to Other standard before the update. To do this,
either set rotary switch A to C and rotary switch B to 0 or set the country data set via a
communication product.
• Carry out the firmware update via the SD memory card or a communication product (see
manual of the inverter or communication product).
• Ensure after the update that the inverter is updated to the firmware version ≥ 3.00.00.R.
Set the required country data set via the rotary switch or a communication product
(overview of country data sets see manual of inverter).
Downgrade of firmware version from ≥ 3.00.00.R to ≤ 2.99.99.R
If the inverter is equipped with a firmware version ≥ 3.00.00.R, but is used in plants outside
the EU, according to grid connection conditions before 26 April 2019 or on the basis of
temporarily adapted country data sets according to the manufacturer's declaration, a
downgrade to a firmware version ≤ 2.99.99.R must be carried out. For this, a special firmware
version is necessary. It must be made available by SMA Solar Technology AG.
• Contact Service (refer to www.SMA-Solar.com for contact details).
• When the firmware version for the downgrade is available, set the country data set SMA
Other standard. To do this, either set rotary switch A to C and rotary switch B to 0 or
set the country data set via a communication product.
• Carry out the firmware update via the SD memory card or a communication product (see
manual of the inverter or communication product).
