Problems with the cartridges
Malfunction
The cartridge strip doesn't
advance
Cartridge strip is difficult to
remove.
The cartridge doesn't fire

Disposal
Most of the materials from which Hilti tools and appliances are manufactured can be recycled. The
materials must be correctly separated before they can be recycled. In many countries, your old tools,

Possible cause
The cartridge strip is damaged.
Excessive build-up of foreign mat-
ter on the fastening tool.
Fastening tool damaged.
Wrong cartridge strip used.
Fastening tool overheated.
Build-up of combustion residues.
Bad cartridge (does not fire or
achieves slight or no impact).
Fastening tool dirty.
Not fully pressed against the work
surface.
Firing pin damaged.
Fastening tool was pressed against
the working surface for too long.
Fastener driving rate too high (fas-
tening tool overheated).
Fastener driving rate too high (fas-
tening tool overheated).
Cartridge strip stored
incorrectly/stored for too long.

Action to be taken
▶ Change the cartridge strip.
▶ Clean the fastening tool.
▶ If necessary, have the fastening
tool checked by Hilti Service.
▶ Contact Hilti Service.
▶ Use only cartridge strips of a
type intended for use with the
fastening tool.
▶ Allow the fastening tool to
cool down under constant
observation.
▶ Subsequently, carefully remove
the cartridge strip from the
fastening tool.
▶ Service the tool.
▶ Clean the cartridge chamber.
▶ Insert new cartridge strip.
▶ Pull the cartridge strip through
to the next cartridge.
▶ Clean and oil the fastening tool.

▶ Press the fastening tool fully
against the work surface and
then pull the trigger.
▶ Contact Hilti Service.
▶ Remove cartridge strip and
insert a new cartridge strip
instead.
▶ Fire the fastening tool sooner
after pressing it against the
working surface.
▶ Stop using the tool immediately.
▶ Remove cartridge strips and
allow the fastening tool to cool
down.
▶ Do not exceed the recom-
mended maximum fastener
driving rate (see the section
headed "Technical data").
▶ Stop using the tool immediately.
▶ Remove cartridge strips and
allow the fastening tool to cool
down.
▶ Do not exceed the recom-
mended maximum fastener
driving rate (see the section
headed "Technical data").
▶ Use a new cartridge strip.
