1. Install the Strainer Body
From above the sink:
Remove the stopper from the strainer body. Set the stopper aside.
Place a ring of plumbers putty or other sealant around the
underside of the strainer body rim.
Align the strainer body so the Kohler logo faces the user.
Push the strainer body down into the hole in the sink.
Remove any excess putty or sealant.
From underneath the sink:
Apply a ring of plumbers putty or other sealant around the top
side of the rubber gasket according the putty or sealant
manufacturer's instructions.
Secure the top of the rubber gasket around the strainer body.
Remove any excess putty or sealant.
Place and hold the paper gasket around the strainer body.
Hand tighten the nut onto the strainer body to secure the paper
gasket in place.
Securely tighten the nut using a pipe wrench.
