3.4 Burn Hazard
The burn danger exists when working on a hot engine and
components such as exhaust collector, turbo compressor,
Lambda probe, etc. are touched or the user gets too close to
them. These components can reach temperatures of hundreds of
degrees Celsius.
As a consequence of the exhaust gases collection, also the gas
collector hose can be extremely hot.
Safety measures:
• Use protection equipment, for ex.: gloves.
• Let the engine cool (the same applies for auxiliary heatings).
• Don´t put connection wires on hot parts or close to them.
• Don´t leave the engine working more time than necessary for the
test/adjustment.
3.5 Fire and explosion hazards
The works on the fuel/carburation system implies a risk of fire and
explosion due to the fuel and its steam.
Safety measures:
• Turn OFF the ignition.
• Let the engine cool.
• Avoid exposed flames and ignition sources.
• Don´t smoke.
• Collect the fuel spilled.
• In closed rooms, provide a good ventilation.
