Troubleshooting
Problem
The light will not come on.
There is a red blinking light
inside the motion sensor.
The light comes on during
the day.
The light comes on for no
apparent reason.
The lights flash on and off.
Possible Cause
□
The control dial is set to the OFF
position.
□
The rechargeable battery is dead.
□
The solar panel is positioned
wrong.
□
Daylight turn-off (photocell) is in
effect.
□
The motion sensor is positioned
wrong.
□
The surrounding air temperature
is greater than 122° F (50° C) or
less than -4° F (-20° C).
The rechargeable battery is running
low on power.
□
The light fixture may be installed
in a relatively dark location.
□
The control dial is in the TEST
position.
The motion sensor may be sensing
small animals or automobile traffic.
The motion sensor may be sensing
shadows.
Solution
□
Turn the control dial to select an
amount of time for the light timer.
□
Turn the control dial on the side of
the sensor to the OFF position and
allow the battery to charge with 2 to
5 days of full sunshine before testing.
□
Position and angle the solar panel so
that it gets plenty of direct sunlight
for most of the day, if not the entire
day.
□
Recheck after dark.
□
Reposition light so the motion sensor
is positioned toward the area of
movement.
□
The light will operate normally inside
the specified temperature range.
Turn the control dial on the side of the
sensor to the OFF position and allow the
battery to charge with 2 to 5 days of full
sunshine.
□
Relocate the light fixture to an area
that receives more light.
□
Turn the control dial to select an
amount of time for the light timer.
Reposition the light so the motion sensor
is positioned away from the area of
movement.
Relocate the light fixture to an area away
from shadows.
