5. Drain Installation–Style B
- Remove the protective material from the flange.
- Apply a ring of plumbers putty or or other sealant to the underside
of the flange.
- Assemble the nut and washer fully onto the body. Do not tighten the
nut at this time.
- Apply three layers of sealant tape to the top threads of the drain
body.
- Insert the drain body up into the underside of the drain hole.
- Position the body so the seal hole faces the back of the lavatory.
- Thread the flange onto the drain body from the top of the lavatory.
- Ensure the seal hole is facing the back of the lavatory and fully
tighten the nut.
- Remove any excess putty or sealant.
- Insert the stopper into the flange.
- Assemble the washer onto the short end of the rod. Insert the short
end of the rod into the body seal hole and under the stopper for
regular installations. For vandal resistant installations, fit the rod
through the hole in the stopper. Loosely secure with nut.
