Set the date and time
The ACE 2.0 sets the time and date
automatically using the GPS time (UTC) (the ACE
2.0 must be receiving a GPS signal for this to
work).
It will adjust to your time zone and to summer
and winter time using the time on your
smartphone (a connection between ACE 2.0 and
your smartphone is required).
Connect to your smartphone
To use the ACE 2.0 with your smartphone (iOS
or Android), first download the free "Advanced
Car Eye 2.0" application (ACE 2.0 app) from the
appropriate app store: iTunes (iOS), Google Play
Store (Android) or Tencent App Store (Android).
The ACE 2.0 app will adopt the language set on
your smartphone.
To connect your smartphone to the ACE 2.0,
enable the Wi-Fi function on your smartphone
and connect to the following:
SSID: BMWACE2.0
Standard password: 1234567890
You must also disable power saving mode on
your smartphone. On certain smartphones,
the connection between ACE 2.0 and the
smartphone may fail if power saving mode is
active.
Furthermore, some smartphone models do not
generally support a permanent Wi-Fi connection
with other devices.
When you open the ACE 2.0 app for the first
time, you must decide whether you want the
BMW or MINI design. This setting can only be
changed by uninstalling and reinstalling the ACE
2.0 app.

The system will prompt you to change
the standard password (minimum 8
figures) and the SSID using the ACE 2.0
app in "Settings" > "Wi-Fi" (see section
"ACE 2.0
app"). When you have changed
your password and the SSID, you will
have to log onto the Wi-Fi hotspot of
your defined SSID again using the new
password.
In principle the ACE 2.0 can also be operated
without a connection to a smartphone using its
basic settings.
However, this requires that it has first been
connected to the smartphone so that the date
and time are set correctly (see section
date and
time").
Acoustic instructions keep you up-to-date with
the status of your ACE 2.0. Recordings can also
viewed using a media player on a computer (for
example Windows Media Player, VLC, etc.) after
you have connected the micro SD card to your
PC or MAC.
Switch on and off manually
In addition, the ACE 2.0 can be switched on and
off manually in driving mode.
It can be switched off by pressing the Power
•
key for at least 3 seconds.
