Dear Customer
In the first place we would like to thank you for having chosen our product
which is the result of constant technological research. So that you can get
the best out of your new stove, we kindly ask you to carefully follow the advi-
se contained in this operating and maintenance manual and to make sure
that the technicians installing it read its contents as well so that they can
obtain all the information necessary for correctly installing the stove and
ensuring utmost operating safety and efficiency.
Description
PRISCILLA is a stove with a long autonomy because it has a solid monolithic
steel structure that includes a large hearth with removable, extra thick cast
iron walls. The outer structure of the PRISCILLA stove is made in refractory
majolica panels that accumulate a great quantity of heat, letting it off gra-
dually and evenly into the room by radiation. This is the heat distribution
method closest to natural sunlight and is, therefore, a healthy and effective
system. The stove has a large handy drawer on runners for holding firewood.
The PRISCILLA stove is available in different colours to meet all furnishing
requirements.

GENERAL RULES FOR A CORRECT OPERATION (Page 4)
1) For correct stove operation it is necessary to follow some fundamental
rules regarding the FLUE, THE AIR INLET and the INSTALLATION procedures.
2) For the EXTERNAL COMBUSTION AIR INLET drill an 8 to 10 cm diame-

ter hole on an outside wall, possibly behind or near the stove, and fit an

insect screen and closing system on it.

3) The size of the flue must comply with the technical specifications in this

handbook. It is compulsory that the flues are insulated preferably in a refrac-

tory material or stainless steel with a circular cross-section and smooth inter-
nal walls (Fig. 1).
The flue cross section should be constant for its full height. The higher the flue,

the greater the draught. A minimum height of 3.5 metres is recommended;

any height less than 3 metres should be avoided at all costs. All specifications

must, however, conform to the UNI-CTI 9615 (Fig. 2) - UNI 9731 and 1068

standards. In the case of existing rectangular flues, we suggest casing them

with steel pipes, minimum 2 mm thick and with a suitable diameter, insulating

the gap between the pipe and the flue.

4) The chimney top must be the DRAUGHT-DIVERTER type with an outlet
Page

cross-section at least double that of the flue cross-section (Fig. 2).

5) To avoid draught problems, each stove should have its own flue (Fig. 4).
If there is more than one flue on the roof the others should be at least 2
metres away from yours and your chimney top should be at least 40 cm

ABOVE the others. If the chimney tops are near each other and at the same
height, install some dividing panels.

6) A perfect draught is above all the result of a flue that is clear of obstruc-
tions such as chokes or sharp angles; any axial displacements should be at
a maximum angle of 45° compared to the vertical axis, (better still if it is
only 30°). It is better if such displacements are in proximity of the chimney
top (Fig.5).
7) If there is more than one hearth in the same room, we suggest you increa-
se the cross-section of the external air intake for each stove to prevent air
depression causing smoke.
8) DETERIORATING flues made with unsuitable materials such as asbestos
cement, galvanised steel, vibration-compressed cement elements with a
rough or porous internal surface are illegal and can jeopardise the correct
operation of the stove.
N.B. If the stove is installed with a flue that has already been used it should
be cleaned thoroughly to avoid malfunctions and the danger of unburned
parts deposited on the inside from catching fire. Under normal conditions of
use the flue should be kept clean, cleaning it at least once a year.

TRANSPORTATION AND POSITIONING
The stoves are delivered assembled and packed in material suitable for long
journeys. This packaging should only be removed once the stove is at the
place of installation. To put in place, remove the majolica top and lift the stove.
