3.1

Designated use

The supplementary equipment set described in this
document is to be used to connect and test Piezo com-
mon rail injectors (hereinafter referred to as CRI Piezo)
by Denso and Siemens/VDO/Conti.
3.2

Prerequisites

EPS 205 or EPS 200 is required for CRI Piezo operation
with the installed basic set 1 687 010 397 and the in-
stalled extension set for Piezo injectors 1 687 010 393.

In the case of Siemens/VDO/Conti and Denso, the
sample test sequences do not contain set value and
tolerance data. The user has sole responsibility for
the accuracy of test values for Siemens/VDO/Conti/
Denso CRI Piezo. Using unsuitable test values puts
the CRI Piezo at risk of damage (e.g., overload).

Denso Piezo injectors and Siemens/VDO/Conti
Piezo injectors are tested with the same procedure
EPS 200 / 205as for Bosch injectors. This proce-
dure may differ from the specifications of the other
manufacturer.
This accessory set contains an adapter accessory (me-
chanical connection adapters and electrical adapter
cables) to connect and check the most common Denso/
Siemens/VDO/Conti Piezo injectors with EPS 200 / 205.
The EPS 200 / 205database contains the sample
test sequences Denso "295900xxxx" and Siemens
"A2C595xxxx" for testing the third party injectors. They
contain predefined control profiles and test steps. Test
specifications that are not included must be deter-
mined or defined and entered. These sample test se-
quences contain test steps predefined by Robert Bosch
GmbH without set value and tolerance data for the in-
jection and return quantities. This information must be
determined by the tester or taken from data sheets and
added to the test steps. Opening and editing a test rou-
tine is described in the Online Help EPS 200 / 205.
Training
This supplementary equipment set has been designed
for trained specialist personnel with operational knowl-
edge of the EPS 200 / 205 and with knowledge of
injector testing in diesel workshops. They must have
completed a training course on "Testing and repairing
CRI Piezo" at the AA training center or an RG training
center. The operating instructions must be thoroughly
read and observed for your own safety and to prevent
damage to the equipment through improper handling.

Hose line 1 680 712 369 for

Siemens/VDO/Conti CRI Piezo

Hose line 1 680 712 369 is connected to the return
connection on the Siemens/VDO CRI Piezo with the
coupling adapter (fig. 1, item 2). The coupling nipple
(fig. 1, item 1) is connected to the test connection for
the return quantity on the EPS 200/205.
