Procedure:
1. Clean the CRI Piezo (see Sec. 4.3).
i
Perform the "leak test" before fitting the injection
chamber (fig. 5, item 6) on the component.
2. Attach the CRI Piezo (fig. 5, item 6) to the clamp .
!
To avoid twisting and premature wear, do not
connect the high-pressure hose directly to the
CRI Piezo.
3. Connect the high-pressure hose with the connection
adapter (fig. 5, item 8, 9) to the CRI Piezo.
!
The connection adapter must be tightened to a
torque of between 25 Nm and 30 Nm. If the connec-
tion between the connection adapter and the CRI
Piezo is leaking, the screw connection is not to be
re-tightened. In the event of a leak, unfasten the con-
nection again, clean the sealing surface and re-con-
nect the connection adapter applying the correct
tightening torque.
4. Connect the hose 1 680 712 368 or 1680 712 369
to the return of the CRI Piezo and to the "CRI Piezo
return inlet" (fig. 5, item 1).
5. Connect the hose 1 680 703 079 to the "CRI Piezo
return outlet" (fig. 5, item 2) and to the "Test con-
nection for return quantity" (fig. 5, item 3).
6. Connect the injector-specific adapter cable
(1 684 465 670 or 1 684 465 672) to the CRI Piezo
and to the "Socket" (fig. 5, item 5).
!
Route the injector-specific adapter cable such that it
does not come into contact with the hot hoses.
7. Insert the inlet filter in the "Test connection for
injected fuel quantity" (fig. 5, item 4).
8. Close the guard.
9. Perform the test.
i
After the "leak test", fit the injection chamber on the
component and connect the hose 1 680 712 362 to
the quick-release coupling of the injection chamber
and via the inlet filter to the "Test connection for
injected fuel quantity" (fig. 5, item 4).
i
CRI Piezo testing is described in the Online Help.

!
For Siemens/VDO/Conti and Denso CRI Piezo, the
sample test sequences do not contain information
about the return back pressure. The user must check
whether a return back pressure must be set for
these injectors. If a return back pressure is required,
the return back pressure must be selected in the
software for test steps in the "return back pressure"
column (approx. 10 bar).
