Clean the engine by hand (avoid introducing water into
the air filter and exhaust). Avoid wetting the controls
and other equipment / accessories that are difficult to
dry (water stimulates the appearance of corrosion and
rust);
Do not use aggressive cleaning products. These
products
may
damage
compromising the safe operation of the chainsaw.
In order to avoid the risk of fire, the ventilation slots, the
cooling fins and the exhaust must remain free of
flammable waste.
Maintenance:
Only maintenance works described in this instruction
manual may be carried out; all other works must be
performed by an official dealer.
Only use accessories, oils or greases authorized by VITO.
Not doing so may result in personal injuries or damages
to the chainsaw. In case of doubt, you should contact an
official dealer.
For safety reasons, the fuel conductive components
(hoses, tank, tank cap and connections) should be
checked regularly for damage and leaks. If necessary,
they should be replaced by an official dealer.
Keep warning and information stickers always clean and
legible.
Keep all nuts and screws well tightened in order to
ensure a safe operation.
If any components or safety devices are removed for
maintenance works, they must be repositioned
immediately.
Long-term storage
Never store the chainsaw with petrol in the tank inside
a building. Petrol vapours may come into contact with
flames or sparks and ignite.
Store the chainsaw in a dry area with the fuel tank
empty and the fuel in a well-ventilated compartment.
Avoid places with high humidity to avoid the
appearance of corrosion and rust.
Clean the equipment thoroughly before storage,
especially in winter. Keep the device in a good operating
mode.
Make sure the appliance is protected against misuse
(for example, by children).

Technical assistance
Your chainsaw should only be serviced by the
manufacturer's internal service personnel, or other
qualified personnel, replacing any necessary parts with
original parts sourced directly from the manufacturer.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Guide bar and chain
Caution: The saw chain has very sharp edges. Wear
protective gloves to assemble it.
1. Pull the chain brake lever back.
2. Loosen the two-guide bar fixing nuts (15), remove the
guide bar plate and dispose of the spacer;
3. Install the guide bar;
4. Place the chain on the clutch sprocket and insert it
into the guide bar. Check the cutting direction of the
saw chain; The chain tensioning screw should be
positioned backwards so that it goes through the
hole of the guide bar;
5. Mount the plate and tighten (by hand) the nuts;
6. While you hold the guide bar by its tip, adjust the
chain's tension through the chain tensioning
adjustment screw (16). Tighten the screw until the
chain touches the lower side of the guide bar;
7. Tighten the nuts firmly, always holding the tip of the
guide bar, check that the chain slides smoothly along
the guide bar. If necessary, adjust the chain's tension
through the tensioning screw.
Important: Proper tension of the chain is
extremely important. Prevents chain's guide bar
wear and ensures safer and more perfect cuts.
