Appendix A: Velocity profiling

Profiling a site involves directly measuring the water velocity at several points across the pipe cross-
section to determine the average velocity. The flow logger uses this profile information along with the
sensed velocity and depth reported by the flow sensor to calculate the correct site calibration
coefficient for the application.
Note: Profiling verifies or improves accuracy. However, the default site calibration coefficient is often adequate.

Appendix B: Flow calculations

For most applications, the flow in a channel is calculated and recorded by a flow meter.
