Running-in
Do not run the engine at unloaded full throttle for
extended periods during the first 10 hours.

Two-stroke oil

For best results and performance use Zenoah two-
stroke oil.
If Zenoah two-stroke oil is not available, use a two-
stroke oil of good quality for air-cooled engines.
Speak to your servicing dealer to select the correct
oil.
CAUTION:
oil for water-cooled outboard engines,
also referred to as outboard oil. Do not
use oil for four-stroke engines.

To mix gasoline and two-stroke oil

CAUTION:
errors influence the ratio of the mixture
drastically when you mix small quantities of
fuel. Carefully measure the quantity of oil to
be mixed to make sure that you get the
correct mixture.
1. Fill half the quantity of the gasoline to be used.
2. Add the full quantity of oil and mix (shake) the fuel
mixture.
3. Add the remaining quantity of gasoline.
4. Carefully mix (shake) the fuel mixture and fill the fuel
tank of the product.
5. Empty and clean the fuel tank if you do not use the
product for some time.
Note:
Do not mix fuel for more than 1 month at a time.

Chain oil

All Zenoah chainsaws have an automatic chain
lubrication system. On some models the oil flow is also
adjustable.
Chain oil must show good adherence to the saw chain
and also keep its flow quality during warm summer and
cold winter weather.
Use Zenoah chain oil for maximum saw chain life and to
minimise environmental damage. This chain oil has a
vegetable oil base and is also biodegradable. If this
chain oil is not available, we recommend you to use a
standard chain oil.
The fuel runs out before the chain oil from the two tanks.
This is a safety function and it is necessary that you
follow the requirements below:
Use an oil of the right grade (suitable viscosity
range) to agree with the air temperature. If the oil is
too thin, it will run out before the fuel. In

Do not use two-stroke
There is a risk that small
temperatures below 0°C (32°F) some oils become
too thick. This can cause the oil pump to overload
and result in damage to the oil pump components.
Adjust the carburetor as recommended. A lean
mixture causes the chain oil tank to empty before the
fuel tank.
Use the recommended cutting equipment. A guide
bar that is too long will use more chain oil.
WARNING:
Waste oil can cause injury to you and the
environment. Waste oil also causes damage
to the oil pump, the guide bar and the saw
chain.
WARNING:
cutting equipment is not sufficient, it can
cause the saw chain to break. This can
cause serious injury or death to the
operator.
Turn to your servicing dealer when you select a chain
oil.

To fill the fuel tank
1. Clean the area around the fuel tank cap.
2. Shake the container and make sure that the fuel is
fully mixed.
3. Fill the fuel tank and the chain oil tank at the same
time. The capacities of the chain oil tank and fuel
tank are carefully correlated. (Fig. 45)
4. Tighten the fuel tank cap carefully.
5. Move the product 3 m (10 ft) or more away from the
refueling area and source before starting.
CAUTION:
causes malfunction. Clean the fuel tank and
chain oil tank regularly and replace the fuel
filter one time a year or more.

To start the product

To start the product with a cold engine
1. Move the front hand guard forward to engage the
chain brake. (Fig. 46)
WARNING:
be engaged when the chainsaw is
started to decrease the risk that the saw
chain touches you during start.
2. Pull the red control out and up to set the start/stop
switch in the choke position. (1)
Do not use waste oil.
