6 - IMPORTANT: READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE
MEMORIZING TRANSMITTERS
6.1 - Standard and custom memorization procedures
All transmitter memorization procedures fall into two alternative groups: procedures
which memorize the units in standard mode, called "Mode I procedures", and
those which memorize them in custom mode, called "Mode II procedures".
6.1.1 - MODE I procedures
Procedures of this type automatically assign the three dimmer commands to the
first three buttons on the transmitter (any other buttons are not programmed), in line
with the unit's factory setting (not modifiable by the installer). At the end of a Mode I
procedure, the transmitter will be configured as follows:
– button s (or button 1): "Dimmer Up".
– button n (or button 2): "Toggle".
– button t (or button 3): "Dimmer Down", if present.
– button 4 (and others): if present, no function.
N.B.: – if you transmitter's buttons are not marked with symbols or numbers, refer
to fig. 3 to identify them.
When using the transmitter, the buttons have the following functions:
• Dimmer Up:
– briefly press the button (less than 1 second) to increase the brightness slightly, if it
is not already at the maximum setting;
– hold down the button (more than 1 second) to continuously increase the bright-
ness up to the desired setting (release the button) or the maximum.
• Toggle:
– every time you press the button, the dimmer turns the lamp on or off. The bright-
ness when the lamp is turned on is that last set on the dimmer. This value is stored
by the dimmer whenever the lamp is switched off (i.e. the brightness of the lamp
when switched off) and in any case whenever 60 seconds have passed since the
brightness was last adjusted (the last brightness value).
• Dimmer Down:
– briefly press the button (less than 1 second) to decrease the brightness slightly, if it
is not already at the minimum setting;
– hold down the button (more than 1 second) to continuously decrease the bright-
ness down to the desired setting (release the button) or the minimum.
6.1.2 - MODE II procedures
Procedures of this type enable the installer to freely assign any dimmer command to
any transmitter button. Following a Mode II procedure, to assign another command

to another button, repeat the procedure from the start. The following commands can
be memorized with Mode II procedures:
• Dimmer Up > Dimmer Down > Dimmer Up > etc..... / Toggle:
– hold down the button (more than 1 second) to increase the brightness (Dimmer
Up). If you release the button and then hold it down again, the dimmer decreases
the brightness (Dimmer Down);
– briefly press the button (less than 1 second) to turn the lamp on or off (Toggle).

• Dimmer Down:
functions as described under Mode I.
• Toggle:
functions as described under Mode I.
• Brightness level (...) (1 / 2 / 3 / 4):
these commands each call up a different brightness setting. The factory settings
for the levels are given in the following table:
Brightness level 1 = 25 %
Brightness level 2 = 50 %
Brightness level 3 = 75 %
Brightness level 4 = 100 %
The brightness setting for each level can be changed using the procedures given
in Chapter 11. Caution! – If the setting if less than the minimum brightness setting
(see Chapter 4) the lamp will not work properly; for instance, an On command will
not turn the lamp on.
For example: if the dimmer is connected to a led lamp (the minimum bright-
