1.2 Connecting the modem to the telephone line
1.
Unplug the telephone from the wall socket, then plug the line from telephone
into the socket on the back of the modem marked 'Phone'.
2.
Plug the telephone cord supplied with the modem, into the socket on the back of
the modem marked 'Line'.
3.
Plug the other end of the telephone cord into the wall socket.
2. Software installation
2.1 Driver installation Windows 98(SE) / ME
1.
Start Windows98(SE) /ME. Windows will prompt the message of 'PCI
Communication Device'. Click 'Cancel'.
2.
When Windows has started up, you have to run the 'HXFSetup.exe' to install
the modem. Insert the Driver CD-ROM, when an autorun menu is starting up,
you may close it.
3.
Go to: Start -> Run -> Click 'Browse' -> Select at 'Look in:' the CD-ROM drive
which contains the Driver CD-ROM.
4.
Double click the folder '\HSFi' or '\Drivers', double click '\Win9x' or '\WinMe',
select 'HXFSetup' and click 'Open'.
5.
Click 'OK' to run the 'HXFSetup.exe', the modem will be installed automatically.
This installation can take some time depending on your system configuration.
6.
The modem is ready to use. The modem is installed as a 'SoftK56 Data Fax
Voice SpeakerPhone CARP' modem.
2.2 Driver installation for Windows 2000
1.
Windows will detect the modem automatically. Click 'Cancel'.
2.
Insert the Driver CD-ROM, when an autorun menu is starting up, you may close
it.
3.
Go to: Start -> Run -> Click 'Browse' -> Select at 'Look in:' the CD-ROM drive
which contains the Driver CD-ROM.
4.
Double click the folder '\HSFi' or '\Drivers', double click '\Win2k', select
'HXFSetup' and click 'Open'.
5.
Click 'OK' to run the 'HXFSetup.exe', the modem will be installed automatically.
This installation can take some time depending on your system configuration.
6.
Before using the modem, restart the computer.
7.
The modem is ready to use. The modem is installed as a 'SoftK56 Data Fax
Voice SpeakerPhone CARP' modem.
