With poultry, it is particularly important to cook the meat thoroughly; other-
wise, there is an increased risk of salmonella and other bacteria. Therefore,
poultry should have a core temperature of at least 75°C or higher. Make
sure that the colour of the meat is whitish throughout. The setting options on
this appliance are variable, so that you can also set higher or lower core
temperatures, depending on your own taste. However, poultry should always
be eaten well-cooked.
Deep-frozen foods
Ideally, frozen food should be defrosted in the refrigerator. This is more
gentle on the food and reduces germ formation.
The liquid from thawed meat, poultry or fish may be contaminated with
germs. Take care to avoid contact with other foods during defrosting and
dispose of the thawed water hygienically.
Never refreeze thawed foods!
Process thawed foods the same day!
