Slide Assembly
The slide assembly consists of the slide, swivel slide,
depth adjustment knob, and tool block. The slide
travels along one stationary gib and one adjustable
gib. It also houses the feed screw nut. The swivel slide
is bolted to the slide and holds the depth adjustment
knob. The depth adjustment knob screws into the
tool block, which holds the tool bit. Turning the depth
adjustment knob controls the depth of cut of the tool
bit. The depth adjustment knob has indicating marks
that represent approximately 0.005 in. (0.13 mm) of
feed (see Figure 4).

Gearbox Assembly
The gearbox assembly bolts to the housing and houses
the worm gears, bearings, and feed screw. The feed
knob extends from the gearbox housing and is used
to feed the tooling across the flange face. Rotation of
the feed knob results in rotation of the internal worm
gears. The feed screw passes through one of the
worm gears and is held in place by the locking collar
(see Figure 5).

Tool Bits
Standard QuickFace tool bits are 3/8 x 3/8 x 3 in.
(10 x 10 x 76 mm) and made from high speed tool
steel; however the tool holder will also accept 10
mm tooling. Indexable tooling is also available upon
request.
