7. Turn the depth adjustment screw to position the
tool block in the retracted position (see Figure 9).

Installation

1. Install the QuickFace into the work piece with the
top of the locator, or locator extension if used, about
1/8 in. (3 mm) below the flange face (see Figure 10).
Turn the mandrel locking knob clockwise to tighten
the locators. Slightly rock the QuickFace back and
forth while tightening to make sure it is firmly seated
in the work piece. If the QuickFace mandrel cannot
be tightened firmly by hand, insert a ratchet wrench
into the end of the mandrel locking knob. DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN THE MANDREL LOCKING KNOB
OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR! The mandrel is tight
enough when the QuickFace does not move when
lifting up on the end of the gearbox housing.

2. Loosen the swivel slide screws to tilt the swivel slide.
The preferred angle of the slide is between 10° –
30° from perpendicular. Make sure that the slide is
tilted enough to make it across the entire face in one
continuous operation without running out of travel
(see Figure 11). The QuickFace cuts from the OD
toward the ID.
