Storing sterile containers
Note
Sterile containers may be stored in stacks.
Store sterile containers in a dry, clean and protected place.
Observe storage period and storage conditions acc. to DIN 58953-9,
see Storage period for sterile materials — extract from DIN 58953-9,
sterile supplies.
Recommended guide figure for the storage period acc. to DIN 58953-9:
6 months.
Checking and setting up of sterile supplies
The contents of a sterile container are only deemed sterile if the container
has been properly sterilized, stored and transported.
If this is not the case, the sterile supplies must be reprocessed.
Risk of contamination due to improperly sterilized
sterile supplies!
Before setting up the sterile supplies, check to
DANGER
ensure that the sterilization was successful.
Before opening the sterile container, make certain that its indicator
seal is not damaged.
Make certain that the color of the indicator point has changed.
Make certain that all container components, especially the lid locks,
are intact.
Make certain that there is no condensate in the container.
If any condensate is found, eliminate the cause, see Troubleshooting
list.

5. Maintenance

Note
The sterile containers must only be tested and repaired by persons with the
appropriate training, expertise or experience.
The seals in the container lids have been tested in conformance with
DIN EN 868-8, Appendix G, for a minimum service life of 5,000 cycles.
In case of visible damage, change the seal immediately.

6. Care

Lightly lubricate moving metal parts, e.g. latch hinges, with sterilizable
and steam-permeable maintenance oil (e.g. Aesculap STERILIT® spray
JG600 or maintenance oil JG598).
