Instruction for use
Before using the machine make sure that the frequency and
voltage shown on the rating plate corresponds with the mains
voltage.
Specifications and details are subject to change without prior
notice.
Important warnings
1. The machine must not be used for picking up hazardous
materials - i.e. toxic dust, unless special authorised
precautions are complied with.
2. The machine must not be used for the suction of water or
other liquids.
3. The machine must not be used for picking up combustible
or explosive materials, nor should it be used in an
explosive atmosphere.
4. Under no circumstances should the machine be used for
picking up hot material. In particular the machine must not
be used for cleaning open and closed fireplaces, ovens or
similar that contain warm or glowing ashes.
5. The machine must not be used if the electrical cord
shows any sign of damage. Regularly inspect the cord for
damage.
6. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the
plug, not the cord.
7. When repairing or replacing the cord, the same type of
cord as originally supplied with the machine must be used.
This cord can be supplied by NILFISK.
8. The plug must always be removed from the socket outlet
before starting any service or repair work of the machine or
the cord.
9. No changes or modifications of the mechanical or electrical
safety devices should be made.
10. The maximum airborne noise (sound pressure level) is
below 76 dB(A)/20µPa at 1.5 m.
COSHH regulations
WARNING, where the machine is used for collecting of
recognised hazardous materials, COSHH regulations may
apply.
Wiring instructions
This equipment must be installed by a qualified electrician.
Checking the direction of rotation of the
motor
Before use, connect the booster/suction unit briefly to the
power supply to check that the motor runs in the right
direction.
Rotation in the wrong direction will result in reduced suction
power, and the red control lamp in the motor protection will
light up.
To change the direction of rotation a qualified electrician must
reverse two of the phases in the mains socket.
As the motor is wired correctly when leaving the factory, it
is always the phases in the mains socket which must be
changed, and not those of the suction cleaner itself.
On/off
Plug the cable into the wall socket. Start the motor by
pressing button I and stop it by pressing button O.
Seperator tank, only when used as a suction
unit
The fan unit must be protected by seperator tank with built-in
filter for dust collecting.
For collecting large quantities of dust, soot, sawdust, pieces
of paper, yarn or cloth, the system capacity can be increased
by a pre-separator or interceptor tank.
Lid with inlet and outlet for Ø 50 mm is available.
For easy transportation of the interceptor tank a wheeled
trolley can be supplied. Other tank systems can be supplied
on request.
Accessories
See special leaflet for accessories.
Maintenance
Always keep the machine in a dry place. The machine is
designed for continuous heavy work.
For details of service or maintenance, please contact NILFISK
direct.
Fault finding
• the motor will not start
- a fuse in one of the three phases of the mains may have
blown and need replacing.
- the cable or the wall socket maybe defective and need
checking.
