6. Position bracket (2) over the installed U-bolts (7) being
careful to prevent the U-bolt from slipping into the rocker
panel. Slide the bolt of bracket (4) into the upper notch of
bracket (2). (Make sure that the bolt is fully engaged in the
slot). Finger tighten nut (10). See Figure 6.

7. Thread on a nut (9) on both ends of the U-bolt (7). Finger
tighten at this time. See Figure 7.

8. Repeat steps 4-7 for the rear mounting bracket. Do not
pinch emergency brake cables.
9. Position the driver's side tube step (1A) onto bracket (2).
Insert two M8 hex flange bolts (8) into the tube at the front
and rear positions. Position the tube step fully inbound and
finger tighten bolt (8). See Figure 8.

10. Using a 13mm socket, lightly tighten the nut (10) on bracket
(4). Then proceed to tighten the U-bolt nuts (9) alternating
between the upper and lower nuts to create equal tension.
11. Using a 13mm socket, tighten U-bolt nuts (9) to 25 Nm (18
ft. lbs.). Use a crow-foot open box socket to tighten the
front bracket upper nut (9).
12. Using a 13mm socket, tighten nut (10) on bracket (4) to 25
Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
13. Using a 13mm socket, tighten 2 nuts (9) on bracket (3) to
15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
14. Using a 13mm socket, tighten bolt (8) holding the tube to
bracket (2) to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
15. Repeat steps 1-14 above for passenger's side.
