Problem
Air leaking off pressure switch
valve when the compressor is
stopped.
Air leaking off pressure switch
valve for a long time when the
compressor is running.
The compressor stops and can-
not be restarted.
The compressor stops once max.
pressure has been reached and
the safety valve starts working.
The compressor does not stop
even though the max. pressure
allowed has been reached. The
safety valve triggers.
The compressor does not charge
and causes overheating.
The compressor is noisy with
metallic clangs.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING

Cause
Check valve leaking.
Loadless start valve broken.
Oil Control has triggered.
Winding burnt.
Safety valve faulty.
Pressure switch defective or
broken.
Head gasket or valve broken.
Bearings seizure.

Remedy
Bleed air off the tank, remove the check valve
cap and clean valve seat and sealing element.
Replace the sealing element, if necessary.
Replace the valve.
Top up with oil and restart. Should the compressor
stop once again, call a specialized technician.
Reset, if it occurs again, call a specialized
technician.
Stop the compressor with no delay and replace
the valve.
Stop the compressor with no delay and check
the adjustment, if necessary replace the pres-
sure switch.
