The connection of a copper piping water heater must necessarily be carried out by means of a cast-iron or
brass casing, or any other material suitable to prevent a galvanic bridge; dielectric connections are available
as an option.
2. When the supply pressure of the network is greater than 5 bars, it is necessary to install a pressure reducer
upstream from the safety assembly.
3. It is recommended to place a stop cock upstream from the safety valve.
4. In the event of water supply installations equipped with:
• - small size pipes,
• - ceramic plate taps,
It is necessary to install, as close as possible "ANTI-RAM" type valves or a sanitary expansion vessel
adapted to the installation.
Mixed water heaters and heating reservoirs.
Connection to the heat exchanger.
The water temperature of the heating circuit at the inlet of the heat exchanger may not exceed 85 °C.
"Heating reservoir" devices can be equipped with an electrical kit as an option.
IV.6 Electrical connection
The installation must be equipped with an omnipolar switch with a contact opening distance of 3 mm. The circuit
must be protected by fuses calibrated according to the power of the water heater.
IMPORTANT
• The electrical water heater must be connected in accordance with the European standards and in any event,
the connections must be compliant with the national standards in force.
• The electrical connection of a fixed device is carried out with an appropriate cable, the section of which will
be sized correctly and include a yellow/green earth conductor; in that regard, please refer to the national
regulations on electrical installations in force.
• For the PROTECH line see Chapter V
WARNING: your device must be connected to the earth without fail.
Never use the pipes for a connection to the earth.
The three-phase vertical apparatus is wired in 400 V TRI at the factory. They can also be connected in 230
V TRI (three-phase) or in 230 V MONO (single-phase), WARNING: Floor standing apparatus 200-250 and
300 liters are wired in 230 V Mono at the Factory. They can also be connected in 400 V TRI or in 230 V TRI.
WARNING: for the following models :
- 500 ST 9 is designed to be connected exclusively in 230 V three-phase and 400 V three-phase.
- 500 ST 12 is designed to be connected EXCLUSIVELY in 400 V three-phase.
For the coupling, refer to the diagrams inside or near the protective cover of the electrical parts.
The electrical connection of the device is made exclusively on the terminals of the thermostat or the
terminal unit of the device.
Mixed water heater and heating reservoir.
BRSM models:
These devices are equipped with a heat exchanger and an electric resistor. A "Summer – Winter" switch
allows to choose the desired heating mode (Fig.12) :
• Summer : by electric resistor
• Winter : By the central heating system
Electric kit :
The BRGN or BRDN models can be changed into a BRSM model by equipping them (as an option) with a
"SUMMER – WINTER" electric kit (installed by a professional).
Installation :
• Cut off the power supply before any intervention on the device.
• Empty your water heater and remove the base tray.
• Proceed to assemble the electric base, using the new joint provided for placing the electric kit. To
assemble the base, the bolt torque must be between 7 and 10 Nm. It is imperative to carry out a "crossed"
type of tightening.
• Carry out the electrical connection.
