• I. INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on choosing this quality SCOTT product. Before use read carefully the follow-
ing instructions. Please keep these instructions in safe custody. This specific product line has
been developed to offer you the best comfort and engineered fit.
• II. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
These protectors are considered to be items of Personal Protector Equipment (PPE) of Cat-
egory II and as such are subject to the requirements laid down by the European directive
89/686/EEC. The CE marking may be allocated by SCOTT only once the protector has under-
gone an "EC Type Examination" or "Certification Procedure" at a notified European body.
The protectors in this information sheet undergo EC certification at a Notified European Body,
Italcert (NB0426), Viale Sarca 336, 20126 Milano, Italy which certifies that our products meet
the requirements of directive 89/686/EEC.
BACK PROTECTOR
These SCOTT back protectors have been designed within the requirements of the European
safety standard EN 1621-2:2014 "Motocyclist's protective clothing against mechanical impact -
Part 2: Motorcyclists' back protector - Requirements and tests method". The back protectors
have been submitted to impact tests according to EN 1621-2:2014 and have been classified as
type FB (= Full Back), level 2.
In addition to the standard conditioning provided by the norm, our back protectors for winter-
sports use have been subjected to - 10 C conditioning before impact tests in order to prove
their performance in low temperatures.
• III. INTENDED USE
This protector is strictly limited for the respective use and temperatures indicated by the picto-
grams on the approval label (see chapter VI. Info on product). The protector is explicitly not to
be used above or below indicated temperatures, nor for other kinds of sports.
• IV. USER RESTRICTIONS
APPLICATION AREA
These protectors are designed and manufactured to provide limited protection against the
risk of impact in the event of a fall. They provide a limited protection only in areas covered by
the plates.
LIMITATION OF USE
Back Protector: These protectors do not safeguard against traumas caused by twisting, tor-
sion or extreme movements. They provide this mentioned limited protection only in areas cov-
ered by the plates. SCOTT Sports SA shall not accept any complaints arising from the use of
those products where the pads and the protection plates are not applied.
MISUSES
Bending or twisting the protector excessively is considered improper use and it may cause the
loss of protection properties or breakage of the product. We recommend that the protector is
not left outside or exposed to high or low temperatures before use. Changes in environmental
conditions such as temperature and wetness could significantly reduce the performance of the
protector. Product modifications may cause the loss of protection and therefore are consid-
ered as improper use. Any contamination, alteration to the protector or misuse could danger-
ously reduce the performance of the protector. Never tamper with any part of the protector.
