Introduction

CleanAIR® is a personal respiratory protection system based on overpressure of filtered air in the breathing zone.
The powered air purifying respirator (hereinafter referred to as the "PAPR") sucks in air from the surrounding environment
and supplies it to the protection hood or mask. The resulting overpressure prevents contaminants from passing into the
breathing zone. At the same time the light overpressure ensures high user comfort even when worn for a long time, because
there is no need to overcome any breathing resistance of the filter. The system keeps the selected airflow regardless of the
filter clogging or the degree of battery charge.
To ensure efficient protection, it is necessary to choose a suitable combination of PAPR unit and protective headtop. It is also
important to use the proper filters of the same type in regards to the kind of contamination and its concentration.
The CleanAIR® Chemical 2F Plus meets the requirements of the EN 12941 and EN 12942. Depending on the filters used, it
provides protection against non-toxic as well as toxic particles and harmful gases.

Instructions for use

Carefully read and follow the instructions stated in this user manual. The user must know exactly how to use the protective
equipment correctly.
If, for any reason, the PAPR unit stops working, the user must leave the contaminated environment immediately. It
applies even though the system provides sufficient protection according to EN 12942 while switched off.
If used with the hood when the unit is switched off, the respiratory protection is low or none. In that case there is a
risk of rapid increase of concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease of oxygen concentration. The situation when the
unit is switched off when used with the hood is abnormal.
CleanAIR® Chemical 2F Plus must not be used when the amount of incoming air is insufficient.
CleanAIR® Chemical 2F Plus must not be used in areas where oxygen concentration is below 17%.
CleanAIR® Chemical 2F Plus must not be used in areas where the user has no knowledge about the nature of contami-
nation or its concentration.
CleanAIR® Chemical 2F Plus must not be used in areas where there is a risk of explosion.
CleanAIR® Chemical 2F Plus must not be used in confined spaces, such as closed tanks, tunnels, sewers, etc.
Before each use, check the airflow with the enclosed flow indicator. The flow rate is insufficient if the top edge of the
cone is in the red zone (see Section 4.2 "Airflow test").
Worn headtops must fit tightly onto face to ensure declared level of protection for the wearer. If a beard or long hair
interferes with the sealing line, this may negatively affect the protection provided by the system.
It is very important to choose appropriate filters for the relevant kind of contamination.
Follow the instructions in the user manual enclosed with the filters.
The unit provides protection against different contaminants depending on selected filters.
Filters designed for filtering solid and liquid aerosols do not protect the user against gases.
Filters designed for filtering gases and vapours do not protect the user against particles.
Filters designed just for filtering gases and vapours are not recommended to use on PAPR unit if they are not combined
with a particle insert for the filtration of particles.
Filters must not be attached directly to the hood.
Use only original CleanAIR® particle or combined filters designed for your CleanAIR® Chemical 2F Plus PAPR unit.
Always replace the filters if you notice a change in the smell of the air coming out of the unit.
CleanAIR® Chemical 2F Plus does not remove carbon monoxide (CO) or carbon dioxide (CO
Filters designed for filtering mercury are prohibited to use for longer than 50 working hours.
Always follow your local regulations for using PAPR units, filters and PPE.
If any rule or instruction stated in this manual is not observed, the warranty becomes null and void!

4.

Before use

4.1.
Control procedure before every use - make sure that:
All components are in good condition without any visible damage. Replace every damaged and worn out part.
The hose is connected correctly to the PAPR unit as well as to the headtop.
Airflow is sufficient (Section 4.2.).
4.2.
Airflow test
1.
Disconnect the air hose from the unit.
2. Connect the flow indicator to the unit.
3. Switch the PAPR unit on.
If the pointer's top edge enters the red zone, airflow is insufficient and the filters must be replaced!
