With your pencil and square,
mark a horizontal line on the
upper END to mark where the
SHELF will sit.
These edges
should be even.
Drill two 1/4" holes in the center of
the CLEAT 1" away from the edge
of the short ends.
CLEAT ATTACHMENT TO THE UNIT
1. Drill two 1/4" holes in a CLEAT (B) that you are attaching to a unit end. The holes should be in the center of the CLEAT no closer
than 1" from each end of the CLEAT as shown in the lower diagram.
2. Determine the height of your SHELF which is also the top long edge of the CLEAT(B). With your pencil and square, mark a
horizontal line on the upper END to mark where the SHELF will sit.
3. Hold the CLEAT (B) onto the horizontal line on the upper end and drill 1/8" pilot hole into the END. Remove the CLEAT and
finish drilling the hole in the END. IMPORTANT: DO NOT DRILL THROUGH THE END.
Fasten the CLEAT to the END. Use two BROWN 1-1/2" FLAT HEAD SCREWS.
Repeat this step to fasten each CLEAT to a unit end.
