Installation steps
Check whether the roof of the vehicle is able to support persons before
climbing onto it. You can ask the vehicle manufacturer about the permitted
roof loads.
5.2.1 Making a new installation opening
– see Fig. 4 on page 4 and see Fig. 5 on page 4 –
Drill away the corners prior to sawing work.
Make a wooden frame to reinforce the opening.
Safety glasses and protective gloves must be worn when using electrical
tools or hand saws.
➤ Select an area at the centre on the roof between two longitudinal profiles.
➤ Use a fibre pen to mark a square opening of 400 mm.
➤ Carefully cut an opening on the roof using a keyhole saw or a similar

5.2.2 Installation in an existing roof hatch opening
– see Fig. 1 on page 3 –
Existing roof hatch openings of 400 mm to 435 mm are suitable for the
installation of the roof air conditioner. If the opening for the installation of
the device is larger than 435 mm, it is possible to reduce the roof opening
using a self-made frame. The roof hatch opening for the installation of the
device should not be larger than 450 mm.
