5.9.1

Overview

VLH 2140 is a 2-post lift with electro-hydraulic drive.
Fig. 3 shows the main components.

The lift consists of two columns with an integrated
base plate: control column (1) and secondary column
(2). The two columns are mechanically linked by an
overhead beam (7).
Each column is fitted with a lifting carriage (3) which
can be hydraulically raised or lowered. The hydraulic
unit (8) and the corresponding operating unit (12) are
attached to the control column.
Each lifting carriage is provided with two support arms
(10, 11) with mounts (9) which act as load-bearing
elements.

The switch rod (6) actuates a limit switch. to stop
tall vehicles coming into inadvertent contact with the
overhead beam.

5.9.2

Lifting mechanism

Each column is provided with a hydraulic cylinder. The
lifting carriage is attached to the hydraulic cylinder.
The lifting carriage is raised as the hydraulic cylinder is
retracted.
Synchronization of the two lifting carriages is ensured
by two steel cables to prevent uneven running on
account of one-sided loading. Refer to Fig. 4.
