Canceling the finalization (Unfinalization)
When using a CD-RW disc, you can cancel finalization you have done. When
you perform unfinalization, the disc space consumed by finalization will be
recovered.

Insert a finalized CD-RW disc that you want to unfinalize into
CD-R/RW disc tray of the printer.

Press INPUT SELECT to turn on the CD-RW indicator.
The folder covers on the CD-RW disc are displayed.

Press MENU.
The Folder menu is displayed.

Press the arrow (B/b) button to select "FORMAT" and press
ENTER/PRINT QTY.
The FORMAT sub menu is displayed.

Press the arrow (V/v) button to select "Unfinalizing CD-RW"
and then press ENTER/PRINT QTY.
The confirmation message is displayed.

Press the arrow (B/b) button to select "Yes" to unfinalize the
disc or "No" to cancel unfinalization.
When you select "Yes," the CD-RW disc is unfinalized.
You can also unfinalize a CD-RW disc with the following method:
While the image thumbnails of a CD-RW disc is displayed, press MENU.
Select "DELETE/FORMAT" and then "Unfinalizing CD-RW."
Notes
•It takes approximately 3 minutes to unfinalize a CD-RW disc. During unfinalization,
do not give vibration or shock to the printer.
•A CD-RW disc, after finalization, can be unfinalized so that you can add recording,
delete folders, or rename folders. To view the disc on your computer's CD-ROM
drive, you need to finalize it again.
•You cannot unfinalize a CD-R disc.
