AC leakage test
Final check after repair
Check the antenna terminals and other exposed metal parts for AC leakage.
- Remove the line cable from the AC source (the wall outlet).
- Place a jumper across the two AC plug prongs.
- Use a multi-meter, set for measurements in the ohm-area.
- Place one lead from the multi-meter on the AC plug and place the other lead on
each of the exposed metal parts, that is antenna connections and other exposed
metal parts on the rear panel of the product.
- The measured resistance must be 1 megaohm or more. If the resistance is below
1 megaohm, this indicates an abnormal situation and corrective actions must be
taken.
Please note: Avoid skin contact with neither the AC plug nor the metal parts while
performing the test, as it may infl uence the measurement.
After having replaced the faulty chassis, please read out the error codes, write
them down and return them with the defect chassis.
Then clear the error codes.
Reinstall the customer setup, i.e. reconnect all external sources and cables.
Confi rm picture and sound on all sources, e.g. DVD and external speakers.
Restore customer product setup.
