3. AUTOTEST

Always perform an autotest before using your detector.
Never use it if the autotest is incorrect.
3.1
The autotest function allows you to check that the whole
detector is functioning correctly: the touch prods, the
LEDs*, the lead, the electronics, the buzzer and the
batteries.

Connect the black touch-prod lead to the «COM» termi-
nal. Press the trigger to extend the black touch prod.
Press the trigger 4 to extend the instrument's red touch
prod .
Bring the instrument's red touch prod into direct contact
with the touch prod on the black lead.
Press the autotest button.
Result
All the LEDs must light up except the "
buzzer must sound: the autotest is correct.
NB: To test the continuity of the yellow lead, switch it with
the black lead and redo an autotest.
The battery charge life is indicated by the flashing LED:
- low batt - 50 V LED flashing: 25% battery charge life
remaining

- 127 V LED flashing: 50% battery charge life remaining
- 230 V LED flashing: 75% battery charge life remaining
- 400 V LED flashing: 100% battery charge life remaining.
(1) You are advised to change the batteries (see 11.1).
If the autotest is incorrect, change the batteries or carry
out repairs.
3.2 "Risk of electric shock" LED
If the red "
" LED comes on, immediately stop all
detection and perform an autotest (see 3.1).
Case 1: the batteries are too low or absent. Change the
batteries (see 11.1). The detector has an additional safety
function which indicates the presence of a voltage greater
than 50 V even if the batteries are dead.
Case 2: the batteries are satisfactory but a voltage of
between 25 V and 50V is present on the touch prods.
