Meaning of the symbol
Warning! Please refer to the User's Manual before using
the instrument. In this User's Manual, if the instructions
preceded by the above symbol are not followed, there is a
risk of physical injury or damage to the instrument and the
installations.

Warning! Risk of electric shock. As soon as the LED lights
up, stop using your instrument (see 3.2).

This detector is appropriate for live-line work.
You have just acquired a C.A 701 voltage detector and we
thank you for your confidence.
To get the best service from this instrument:
- read this User's Manual carefully,
- respect the precautions for use.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
n Systematically perform an AUTO-TEST before using your
detector.
n This detector can be used in category-III installations, with
voltages always under 600 V in relation to the earth.
Category III meets the severe reliability and availability
requirements corresponding to constant use on fixed
industrial installations (cf. IEC 1010-1).
n Use accessories that comply with the safety norms (IEC
1010-2-031) with a minimum voltage of 600 V and voltage
surge category III.
n Never open the casing of the detector before disconnecting
from all sources of electricity.
n Never touch the metal touch prods during a test.
n Never perform a continuity test on a live circuit. However,
if you do, the detector provides protection up to 1000 V.
