Decorating tip
For the decor Melt CakeMelts* of the desired colour in a bain-marie
at low heat (do not allow to boil). Stir occasionally.
The consistency is right when it runs off the spoon viscously. For thin-
ner icing add a few drops of rapeseed oil; for thicker icing add a few
drops of water. To apply the icing, lightly dip the sticks into the icing
and carefully push them into the CakePops. Allow the icing to harden.
Then immerse each CakePop in the icing as far as the start of the
stick.
Remove again and carefully tap the stick on the edge of the bowl
while turning the CakePop so that any excess icing can drip off. Allow
the icing to set. To do so, you can set the sticks into tall glasses filled
with sugar, for example.
To ice on fine outlines or faces, mix sieved icing sugar with a little
water or lemon juice until thick and smooth.
Stir in a pinch of food colouring* (depending on the colour and inten-
sity desired) and put into a Deko icing pen* or piping bag* with a
round-tipped nozzle*.
Now ice on outlines or faces.
Sprinkle sugar pearls* into the icing while it is still wet or dot the
surface of the CakePop with icing and top each dot with a sugar
pearl – ready!
