Ending the cooking process, steam release and opening of the pressure cooker
ALWAYS RELEASE STEAM ONLY AFTER REMOVING THE PRESSURE COOKER FROM THE HEAT SOURCE.
After the cooking time has elapsed, remove the pressure cooker from the heat source, even if
the heat source has been switched off . Set the pressure cooker aside for several minutes to allow the
temperature and pressure in the pressure cooker to drop. Then set the control to the steam release
position (11) and wait until all steam has escaped from the pressure cooker. The lock against
accidental opening will slip downwards automatically after the steam has been released. Set the
control to the position for opening and removing the lid and open the pressure cooker.
Notice: If the lock against accidental opening does not slip downwards automatically after the
steam has been released and the control cannot be set to the position for opening and removing
the lid, place the pressure cooker into the sink and cool the lid down with a small amount of slowly
running cold water until the lock slips downwards. Then open the pressure cooker and inspect and
clean the operating valve and the safety valve.
NEVER COOL THE PRESSURE COOKER ABRUPTLY UNDER RUNNING WATER, DO NOT LET WATER RUN
ONTO THE PLASTIC PARTS AND DO NOT IMMERSE THE ENTIRE PRESSURE COOKER IN WATER.
USEFUL HINT
Switch the heat off in advance before the end of cooking to make use of the heat retaining
properties of the three-layer sandwich bottom. Thanks to the three-layer sandwich bottom, the
accumulated heat energy is transferred into the pressure cooker even after the heat has been
switched off . The vessel of the pressure cooker can also be used without the lid as a traditional deep
pot for cooking on the cooking range.
SAFETY COMPONENTS
Operating valve
The operating valve controls high and low pressure, continuously releases excess steam and releases
all steam from the pressure cooker at the end of cooking.
Lock against accidental opening
Prevents accidental opening of the pressure cooker until all steam has escaped from the pressure
cooker and pressure has dropped entirely.
Safety valve
The safety valve operates as a safety component activated when the operating valve becomes
clogged. If steam begins to escape intensely from the safety valve during the cooking process,
immediately remove the pressure cooker from heat. After the pressure cooker cools down, open it
and clean the operating valve and the safety valve.
