that it is compatible with devices with variable frequency equip-
ment and that it complies with the relevant regulations and stan-
dards.
- Carry out cabling in compliance with diagram provided.
- Earth the pumps and box, in compliance with the relevant regula-
tions.
- While laying the connection cables, avoid all contact with the
pipework, pump barrels and motor casings.
- With MULTI-VSE pumps, adjust the protection circuit breakers
switches using the indications about current on the pump's motor
plate.
Supply network
Use a four-conductor electric cable (three phase + earth) to connect
the three phase network to the terminals (L1, L2, L3) of the main sec-
tion switch (See FIG. 1).
Do not forget to connect the earth terminal.
Pump power cables connection.
ATTENTION !
Refer to the instructions for pump commissioning.
Connect the pumps directly to the fuse carriers (or to the protection
circuit breakers for the MULTI-VSE) with shielded cable. Connect the
earth braid to both ends to obtain the best shielding effect.
Pump control cables
ATTENTION !
Refer to the instructions for pump commissioning.
Connect the cables to the basic board terminals(See FIG. 4) and to
the pump terminals.
Use shielded cable and connect the earth braid to both ends to
obtain the best shielding effect.
ATTENTION !
Do not supply any other voltage to the terminals !
Pressure transmitter
Connect it to the basic board correctly (See FIG. 4) as outlined in the
diagram provided with the box.
Use shielded cable and connect the earth braid to both ends to
obtain the best shielding effect.
Do not supply any other voltage to the terminals !
ATTENTION !
Remote ON/OFF
A remote ON/OFF feature can be connected with a float switch on
the basic board's "Ext. Off" terminals (See FIG. 4) once the jumper
cable (fitted at factory) is removed.
Closed switch : automatic mode activated.
Open switch :
automatic mode deactivated, signal on display
"OFF".
Do not supply any other voltage to the terminals !
ATTENTION !
Dry running protection
A "dry running protection " feature can be connected with a float
switch (pressure switch or floater) via the basic board's "Dry" terminals
(See FIG. 4) once the jumper cable (factory assembly) is removed.
Closed switch : Dry running detection not activated.
Open switch : Dry running detection activated. This causes the
pumps to stop after the adjustable delay time T1.
Do not supply any other voltage to the terminals !
ATTENTION !
Pump operation report
A pump operation report is available through the "Operation" termi-
nals".
NO and NF changeover float switches: max. switch load 250VAC/1
Amp (See FIG. 4).
General fault report
A general fault report is available through the "Failure" terminals. NO
and NF changeover float switches: max. switch load 250VAC/1 Amp
(See FIG. 4).
This report's logic is selected with the microcontroller board DIP 7 swit-
ch.
6. COMMISSIONING
We recommend that you call in SAV SALMSON technicians to com-
mission the equipment.
Before power is supplied for the first time, check the wiring of the ins-
tallation to ensure that it is compliant. In particular, check and test
the earth connection.
Check that all the terminal screws are tightly in
ATTENTION !
place before commissioning.
When the pumps are first switched on, they may start up
immediately due to the settings in memory and the pressure
in the installation. All necessary precautions must therefore
be taken to protect persons and equipment.
To prevent the pumps starting up in any situation, the operator may
do one of the following :
- Either open the remote on-off switch "Ext. Off".
- or Open the pumps' current protection (fuses or circuit breakers).
- Before starting-up, the pumps and the pipework should be com-
pletely filled with water and degassed if necessary.
- On the box, place the general section switch at "I" set
the operating mode of each pump to "Auto".
Automatic pump operation is now provided by the pressure transmit-
ter and the box control.
7. MAINTENANCE
The box requires no particular maintenance during operation.
Spare parts
If ordering spare parts, be sure to supply all the information given on
the identification plate on the side of the box.
