Anti-vibration materials should be inserted between the equipment and the bedplate.
Flexible tubes should be installed at the outlet of the suction manifold, if installed, and the discharge manifold to
prevent the transmission of noise and vibrations along the distribution network.
For better sectorisation, we recommend installing cut-off valves in front of the suction manifold and behind the
discharge manifold.
A standard installation will include the following components (Fig. 1):
1.
Impulsion manifold.
2.
Suction manifold. The suction manifold's diameter must be equal or bigger than that of the
discharge manifold. Install flow valves between the collector and the pumps to facilitate disassembly.
3.
Anti-vibration. Anchor the set to a solid foundation (for example a concrete baseplate) using anti-
vibration elements suited to the equipment's weight.
4.
Rubber expansion joints To prevent the transmission of noise and vibrations to the installation, it is
advised to install elastic expansion joints on the set's discharge and suction manifolds
5.
Expansion vessel. Its function is to compensate for small water losses in the installation, preventing
the pump from continually starting and stopping. The load pressure must be 0.5 bar less than the
consigned pressure.

3.2.2) Hydraulic connections

Suction:
The diameter of the suction pipe must be equal to or greater than that of the set's delivery manifold.
Where possible, the pressure equipment should be installed fully loaded.
If this is not possible and the set is installed with negative suction, the horizontal section of the suction pipe
must have a minimum positive gradient of 2% to avoid the formation of air pockets, and we recommend as
few load losses as possible along this section.
The pump's NPSHr must be taken into account to avoid cavitation.
If suctioning from the tank, you must install a foot valve at least 30 cm below the dynamic water level to
prevent the formation of eddies and the air intake that can occur as a consequence.
