10. Burner temperature control (induction)
A temperature sensor is situated in the middle of each burner, in contact with the glass. If the safe temperature limit is
exceeded, the system reacts as follows:
T= 235°C It reduces the power of the zone
It turns the burner off
T= 255°C
Burner overheating may be due, for instance, to the presence of an empty saucepan.
The temperature protection for pots and pans depends on the planarity of the pot. In case of an exceeded air gap
in the centre of the cooking zone the temperature protection (empty boiling pot, oil flaming) is affected.
11. Configuration of the cooking zone
The cooktop is provided with the right configuration for each cooking zone. However it could happen that if one of the
cooking zone display shows the failure code " E - 4", a new configuration would be necessary.
Prior to introduction of the configuration all pots and pans must be removed from the cooking zone and a pan
suitable for induction should be available.
Within 2 minutes after voltage application the configuration can be initiated. The Touch control remains switched off.
All displays remain turned off.
Press the minus key (4) and hold it.
Press all the selection keys (2) available starting anti-clockwise with the cooking zone front right. Every action is
acknowledged by a signal tone.
The cooking zone displays (3) indicate a „C" for non-configured cooking zones and "-" for configured ones.
The cooking zone to be configured can be selected via the cooking zone select key. The symbol „C" starts flashing
on the corresponding display when carried out.
Now a pan must be placed on the relevant cooking zone within 20 sec to enable the electronic to detect the correct
position. If the position is detected correctly, the display indicates "-".
This procedure is applied to every cooking zone until the configuration menu is ended automatically after the last
cooking zone has been configured. The configuration menu can also e ended by pressing the power key. If no key is
pressed, the menu ends within 2 min.
Ready configured cooking zones cannot be configured again in case an error has occurred, e.g. if the pan had been
placed on the wrong cooking zone, the entire configuration can be cancelled.
This requires pressing the minus key for at least 2 sec which results in the symbol "E" to appear on all cooking zone
displays. The „E" on the cooking zone displays continues flashing until all the cooking zone have restored the initial
state and changes into "C" right afterwards. The cooking zones may now be configured anew.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

A few cooking tips
Use only saucepans and frying pans with a sturdy, preferably thick bottom. This is particularly important when preparing
food requiring high cooking temperatures, such as fried foods. If the bottom of the pan is not perfectly flat, the food takes
longer to cook and uses up more energy. The best heat transfer is obtained when the saucepan and burner are the same
size.
You can also use Pyrex and porcelain pans on the burners, providing the bottom of the pan is smooth. Refer to the
instructions of the pan manufacturer on this point.
Any spillages from the pans should be wiped away immediately.
Important notes
Warning: the burner surface becomes red hot when in use, so it is always advisable to keep children well away from the
cook top.
Avoid dropping any hard object on the cook top surface. In some conditions, the material is sensitive to mechanical
loading. The shock of a sharp or pointed object can damage the cooking surface. In the event of any breakage, cracking
or other damage being accidentally caused to the ceramic top, it is essential to stop using the cook top immediately and
contact customer care.
Ceramic glass cook tops must never be used as a work surface or to prepare food wrapped in aluminium foil or packaged
in plastic. Never use the burner without a saucepan on it. Never place flammable, explosive or deformable objects in the
vicinity of the cook top.
Fats and oils can catch fire if they are overheated: that is why foods requiring the use of fat or oil, e.g. French fries, must
always be supervised while they are cooking.
Moreover, it is essential to make sure that the power cords and plugs of any other domestic appliances attached to
sockets near the cook top can never come into contact with the hot cook top surfaces.
No part of the power supply cable must reach an ambient temperature which is over 50°c.
