Demineralization filter: If the indicated value of the TDS display increases from 0 (= resin is still okay) to
2-4 ppm, the resin has to be replaced. It is in a refillable cartridge. We recommend Aqua Medic RO-resin:
6. Failures
There is no osmosis nor waste water from the unit. This may be due to a failure of the first magnetic valve
-
(Fig. 4, No. 12), failure of a pressure sensor (Fig. 4, No. 13 or 16) or a blocked membrane. Contact your
dealer for returning the unit for repair.
Waste water flow rate is too high: The pure/waste water ratio is greater than 1: 3. Replace flush valve
-
or check membrane's power. The pure/waste water ratio depends on the water temperature, the water
contents, the flushing valve and the pressure. Check if the magnetic valve below the flushing valve (Fig. 4,
No. 15) closes. If not, contact your dealer for returning the unit for repair.
- Waste water flow rate is too low: The pure/waste water ratio is lower than 1:1. Check if the prefilter or
flushing valve is blocked. If so, replace it.
Pure water flow is too low: Check if the waste water flow is also low and maybe change the prefilter or
-
membrane. Check if the magnetic valve below the flushing valve (Fig. 4, No. 15) closes after the flushing
process when switching on the system. If not, contact your dealer for returning the unit for repair.
-
Tap water pressure is too low: Check the high pressure pump and replace it, if necessary. If the low-
pressure button is broken, the system does not start either: Replace the low-pressure button (Fig. 4, No.
13).
-
The membrane is blocked or expired: The membrane has to be replaced. As spare parts all standard 18"-
membranes
with a
Polyamide/Polysulfone should be used. We recommend to use original Aqua Medic TFC-membranes only.
-
Rejection rate is too low: If the indicated value of the TDS display increases from 0 to 2-4 ppm, the resin
has to be replaced. If the indicated value is 99 ppm, check if the sealings at the connection of the membrane
are tight or if there's a crack in the support of the membrane's housing. If so, replace the membrane.
No indication on the control unit, system does not work: Maybe a fuse is blown in the control unit due
-
to a defective component. Contact your dealer for returning the unit for repair.
7. Important Notes
-
Connection: Connect the reverse osmosis unit only to cold water supply. Higher temperatures increase the
pure water production but at temperatures above 40° C, the membrane will be destroyed.
-
Stopping the unit: If you stop the unit, always close the tap water supply and pull the power plug.
-
Disconnection of the unit: If you want to disconnect the unit for a longer period than 4 weeks, you should
take the membrane out and put it in the fridge (keep it humid) or fill the unit with an adequate disinfectant
liquid. If the unit is started again, it has to run for a few hours. The water produced then has to be discarded.
