5.2 Reading input data via the web server

To read input data via the web server, proceed as you would to set output data.
You can read out input data regardless of whether the AES is currently exchang-
ing data with the control.
Controlling outputs and reading out inputs via the web server is only
intended to test the functionality of the valve system. Real-time be-
havior cannot be guaranteed for either the output data or the input
data.
Note that this data is not shown in real-time. The value you see in the "Input
Data" area may have changed since the website was last refreshed.
The following two figures show the windows for reading input data for an input
module (above) and a control module (below).

6 Switching cycle counter

Starting with software version V1.30, the AES units (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET IO,
and POWERLINK) can count the valves' electrical switching cycles. After each
power reset of the unit, the switching cycle count resets to 0. Permanent storage
of the values is disabled by default since response times may be delayed slightly
during saving. To permanently store the number of valve switching cycles, the
"Permanent storage when UA is switched off" function must be enabled in the
web server (see g 6.1. Permanently storing the valve switching cycles).
The selection can only be changed if the module has not established a
cyclic connection to a control.

6.1 Permanently storing the valve switching cycles

1. Select the "Valve switch counter" tab.
2. Check the box "Cycle Counter active! Permanent storage when UA is switched
off."
AVENTICS™ PROFINET, POWERLINK, EtherNet/IP | R412018153-BAL-001-AB | English
When the UA actuator voltage is switched off, the current switching cycle
counter level is saved.
To successfully save the switching cycles, the UL logic voltage must re-
main applied for at least 1 s after the UA actuator voltage is switched
off.
Delayed refresh of input and output data due to saving process!
When saving the valve switching cycles, that is, within one second of switching
the UA off or when pressing the "Save Values" button on the website, the input
and output data may not be refreshed for 40 ms.
Make sure no critical situations arise by saving valve switching cycles.

6.2 Resetting the valve switching cycles

The valve switching cycles can only be viewed and reset via the web server. This
makes sense after a valve exchange, for example.
To reset the switching cycle for individual valves back to 0:
1. Select the "Valve switch counter" tab.
2. Click the "Reset" button next to the desired valve.
In the example, valve 3, coil 14 was selected.
3. Click "Save Values" or switch the UA actuator voltage off.
The reset values are applied to the permanent storage.
