1.0 Introduction and Safety
1.1 Introduction
The purpose of this manual is to provide necessary information for
product installation, operation and maintenance.
DANGER: Read this manual carefully before in-
stalling, using or servicing this product. Failure to
follow the instructions within this manual could re-
sult in explosion, property damage, severe personal
injury and/or death.
NOTICE: Save this manual for future reference, and
keep it readily available at the location of the unit.
1.2 Safety
DANGER: ASPHYXIATION HAZARD.
If CO or N gas is used to drive the pump make sure

the area is well ventilated or gas is exhausted to out-
side atmosphere via hose.
WARNING: EXPLOSION HAZARD.
Only use pumps with specified products. DO NOT
PUMP LIQUIDS WITH A FLASH POINT BELOW 100°F
(37.8°C) OR USE WHERE FLAMMABLE VAPORS ARE
PRESENT. To do so can cause an explosion resulting
in injury or death.
WARNING:
• The operator must be aware of safety precautions
to prevent physical injury.
• Any pressure-containing device can explode,
rupture, or discharge its contents if it is over-pres-
surized. Take all necessary measures to avoid
over-pressurization.
• Operating, installing or maintaining the unit in
any way that is not covered in this manual could
cause death, serious personal injury or damage to
the equipment. This includes any modification to
the equipment or use of parts not provided by Xy-
lem. If there is a question regarding the intended
use of equipment, please contact a Xylem repre-
sentative before proceeding.
• Do not change the service application without the
approval of an authorized Xylem representative.
