General safety instructions
To avoid malfunctions, damage and health impairments when working with the machine, the
following points must be observed in addition to the general rules for safe working:
Choose a level, shaking-free, non-slip surface as a place to set up.
•
Make sure you have enough space around the machine!
•
•
Ensure sufficient light conditions in the workplace to avoid stroboscopic effects!
Use only suitable tool that is free cracks and other errors (e.g. deformations).
•
Remove tools from the machine before turning it on.
•
•
Keep the area around the machine free of obstacles (e.g. dust, chips, etc.).
•
Never leave the running machine unattended.
The machine may only be operated, maintained or repaired by persons who are familiar
•
with it and who are aware of the dangers arising from this work.
Make sure that unauthorized persons maintain a corresponding safety distance from the
•
device, and in particular keep children away from the machine.
Wear suitable work clothes (eye protection, hearing protection, gloves duster mask, safety
•
shoes) as well as tight fitting work protection clothing – never loose clothes, ties, jewellery,
etc. – catchment hazard!
•
Hide long hair under a hair protector.
•
Do not remove splinters and chips by hand!
Refrain from working on the machine in case of tiredness, inconcentration or under the
•
influence of medication, alcohol or drugs!
Do not use the machine in areas where vapours of paints, solvents or flammable liquids
•
pose a potential hazard (fire or explosion hazard!).
12.4
Special safety instructions for this machine
Check the condition of the machine daily before and after use and do not put the machine
•
into operation before. During inspection, pay close attention to the connections, safety
devices and safety signs.
•
Secure the logs with the screw cap clamping device instead of using the hand or the help of
another person. This safety measure enables correct tool operation with both hands.
•
When handling coiled saw blades, take special care to prevent them from unrolling
uncontrollably to avoid the risk of injury.
Excessive noise can cause hearing damage and temporary or permanent hearing loss. Wear
•
hearing protection certified according to health and safety regulations to limit noise
exposure
Ensure that unauthorised persons maintain an appropriate safety distance from the
•
machine, and in particular keep children away from the machine.

Safety instructions for machines with a combustion engines
Do not touch the motor and/or the exhaust system during operation or immediately after
•
switching off the machine! These parts become hot during operation and can cause serious
burns.
Do not touch the spark plug connector when the motor is running (electric shock!).
•
•
Do not operate the machine in closed locations or in poorly ventilated rooms unless there is
adequate ventilation by exhaust fans or hoses. (Danger of suffocation by carbon monoxide!).
Do not smoke while the machine is running.
•
Do not smoke while refuelling the machine.
•
Refuel the machine only in well-ventilated areas.
•
•
Do not refuel the machine while the motor is running or the machine is still hot.
•
Do not refuel the machine near open flames.
Do not spill fuel while refuelling.
•
Do not crank a flooded fuel motor as long as the spark plug is removed - fuel accumulated
•
in the cylinder will spray out of the spark plug hole.
•
Do not carry out an ignition spark test on fuel motors if the motor is flooded or there is a smell
of fuel. A stray spark could ignite the fumes.
