6.2

Checking the airflow

Optional: To ensure that the system is functioning correctly, check that the air speed enables
a sufficient differential pressure to be set in the device. This can be done by using a
manometer. The air speed in the duct should read between 1.5 m/s and 20 m/s. The
differential pressure between the sample tubes must measure within the following range:

Tamper switch deactivated (default)
Tamper switch activated
Relay drops out if there is no power and/or the detector C point is activated.
Relay switches on if the detector C point is activated
