NOTE: Regular use of an EPA approved Bacteriostat, such as Essick
Air Part No. 1970 added to the water reservoir helps keep the interior
of the unit from growing mildew or mold.
NOTE: Before cleaning, we recommend moving the humidifier to
an area where water will not cause damage, such as the kitchen or
bathroom.
1. Carefully lift off the chassis (powerpack) and place it in a safe
location.
2. Lift out the wick and set it in a sink or basin. Let the water
drain. Dispose of and replace wick, if necessary.
3. Lift out and invert each water bottle (to prevent water spillage.)
4. Carry them to the sink, remove the caps, and let any remain-
ing water drain.
5. Fill the reservoir and each bottle half full of clean, cool water
and add 8 ounces (1 cup) of white vinegar. Let the solution sit
for 20 minutes.
6. Take a soft cloth dampened with white vinegar and wipe
down the interior of cabinet, and the exterior of the bottles.
Drain the cleaning solution from bottles then thoroughly rinse
out the bottles with fresh water.
7. Refill the bottles with clean, cool water and use the recommend-
ed bacteriostat according to the instructions on the bottle.
8. Replace the bottles in the cabinet per instructions on page 7.
9. Proceed to the Disinfecting Unit instructions below, if de-
sired, or replace the chassis and grille and return the unit
to service.
